Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale has joined up with Joe Wilkinson for a Channel 4 new series called Train-ing It. Watch an exclusive clip on NME in the video above.
The new show is hosted by comedian, actor and screenwriter Wilkinson, and sees him join up with some famous faces to accompany them on their respective journeys.
Structured as a five-part series, the show is made in partnership with Rail Delivery Group – the membership organisation that represents Britain’s train operators – and sees the comedian delve into conversation with celebrities as they travel the country by train.
Launching last month, episode one saw Wilkinson joined by actor Michael Sheen on a journey from London to the Rose Theatre in Kingston. Alongside the funny, curious and quietly revealing chats, the show also touches upon Wilkinson’s genuine affection for train travel and his fascination with what happens behind the scenes.
NME can exclusively reveal a new clip from the second episode, which sees Wet Leg singer Teasdale join as a guest. In the episode, Wilkinson joins her as she travels from London Victoria to her hometown of the Isle Of Wight – where she was going to visit her mum before performing at Coachella 2026.
The episode sees them meet at the train station and board together, and Wilkinson launches into the chat by asking her how she came to form Wet Leg after starting out as a solo artist.
“I had this one gig, it was so weak and I was like ‘OK I’m not doing this anymore’,” Teasdale explained. “I really couldn’t hack the idea of doing it by myself, so I was like ‘Hester [Chambers], will you please come and play guitar with me? Please can we do these shows together?’ – That was the end of my solo career, and we decided that we should start a band.”
The ‘Chaise Lounge’ singer then shared what it was like to get signed to a record label in lockdown, and explained that she thinks the drummer has the hardest role in any band.
“I think being the drummer would be a nightmare job because you’re the one holding it down,” she explained. “You’re always the one starting the song, deciding what the tempo is going to be. Plus, we never play to a click!”
Check out the rest of the clip above, where the singer shares NikNaks with the comedian, reveals that Wet Leg will often do just one rehearsal before a festival, discusses horror films, and presents him with a device to “measure the electromagnetic frequencies in a room” to work out if it is haunted or not.
Announcing the series earlier this year, Wilkinson said he was “thrilled” to be hosting it as he “loves train travel and I love chatting to folk that I admire”.

As for Wet Leg, earlier this year, Teasdale and co. caught up with NME at the 2026 BRIT Awards, where they were nominated for both British Group and Alternative/Rock categories.
Both nods came in celebration of their sophomore album ‘Moisturizer’, which was released in July and praised by NME as seeing them “return smarter, sexier and altogether stronger” than ever.
That record went on to be nominated for three awards at the Grammys and, since then, the band have taken part in the huge, star-studded ‘Help(2)’ album for War Child.
“War Child is such an important charity because the world is just scary,” the singer told us. “It’s a really scary place right now. So, being in the position that we’re in, it was literally the least anyone could do. It was easy for us to do something like that.”
‘Moisturizer’ was named on NME‘s list of the Best Albums of 2025, and celebrated as having tracks that “could go toe-to-toe” with the best aspects of their breakthrough debut record. Back in November, the band teased that their third studio album was already finished.
