TikTok Closes Nashville Office, Lays Off All Staff: Report

TikTok has closed its Nashville office in midtown’s Moore Building and laid off all of its Nashville staff, reports The Tennessean.

“We have decided to close our Nashville office to streamline our operations and better align our teams for long-term growth,” a TikTok USDS Joint Venture spokesperson told the outlet in a statement. “We remain fully committed to providing secure, safe and positive experiences for the 200 million Americans that create, discover and connect with what they love on TikTok.”

The closure comes just two years after TikTok signed a lease for that space, located at 827 19th Ave. S. It is uncertain at this time how many TikTok staffers were employed in its Nashville office. Prior to moving into the midtown location in 2024, TikTok’s Nashville staffers had worked out of downtown Nashville’s WeWork space since 2021.

In October, TikTok and ByteDance laid off approximately 15 employees in its U.S. and Latin American music divisions, including roles on the music-related partnerships and programming teams. A source at the time told Billboard that some TikTok employees in the U.K. office had also recently been notified they were being terminated. Last year’s layoffs marked the first round of significant job cuts at TikTok’s music division since 2023, when seven U.S.-based staffers on the artist services team were cut for efficiency reasons.

According to Sprout Social, TikTok had 136 million users in the United States in 2025.

Billboard has reached out to a TikTok representative for comment regarding the closure of the Nashville office.
