Metallica announce November US shows with Suicidal Tendencies and Spiritbox

Metallica have announced a pair of Connecticut shows for November, with Suicidal Tendencies and Spiritbox also on the bill.

The metal icons are preparing for a length residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas later this year, and now they have added a special two-night stint at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, to mark the venue’s 25th anniversary.

The shows will take place on November 19 and 21, with Suicidal Tendencies opening for them on the first night and Spiritbox supporting on the second. Together, they will form one of the band’s ‘No Repeat Weekends’, in which no songs are played at both dates.

There will be single-day and two-day ticket packages available, and they will go on a fan club pre-sale on Wednesday (April 8), while the general sale will begin at 10am local time on Friday (April 10). You will be able to get yours here.

Metallica’s ‘Life Burns Faster’ Sphere residency was first announced in February as an initial eight-night run, but that was soon extended due to “unbelievable demand”, and it now stands at a total of 24 shows, running from October 1 to March 13.

Those shows come in pairs, with two-night packages available for the “full weekend experience”. The policy of no repeats across each pair of shows will be in effect, after being introduced during their ‘M72 World Tour’.

Some fans faced frustrations while buying tickets, which the band later acknowledged, saying they were “working with our partners to improve this experience and offer some remedies for the next time around”.

The Sphere takeover will boast “live staples and surprises spanning the Metallica catalogue enhanced by the venue’s immersive technologies that will allow fans to experience the sound and fury of the band’s live performance in new experiential dimensions”.

Ticketholders will hear Metallica perform with Sphere Immersive Sound, and enjoy “multi-sensory 4D technology” at the gigs. The shows are due to “present a wholly unique and entirely new Metallica experience for all who attend”.

Before heading to Las Vegas, Metallica will embark on a UK and European tour later this year. This includes two nights at the London Stadium in July, following dates in Dublin, Glasgow and Cardiff. Find any remaining tickets here (UK and Ireland).

Hammett revealed last year that he had 767 new riffs for Metallica’s “next album”. Their 11th and latest full-length effort, ’72 Seasons’, arrived in 2023.
