Maisie Peters teams up with Amelia Dimoldenberg for video for “powerful, tongue in cheek, sexy and funny” single ‘My Regards’

Maisie Peters has teamed up with Amelia Dimoldenberg and Benito Skinner on the video for her new single ‘My Regards’.

It is the fourth track to be taken from her forthcoming third LP ‘Florescence’, which is due out on May 15 after ‘You You You’, ‘Audrey Hepburn’ and ‘Say My Name In Your Sleep’ featuring Marcus Mumford. You can pre-order the album here.

“’My Regards’ feels powerful, tongue in cheek, sexy and funny, all of which I feel are parts of myself I hadn’t really gotten to explore much musically up until this album!,” explains Peters.

“I was inspired by a lot of the country greats and their ‘stand by your man songs’, and so I thought I’d write my own modern day version; however in this song I get to play the role of fierce protector instead of simpering love interest, which is so often how women have been depicted in relationships throughout history.”

Peters teamed up with comedian Amelia Dimoldenberg for her music video directorial debut featuring Overcompensating star Benito Skinner, putting a modern spin on the 1992 film The Bodyguard. You can view it below.

“Directing this music video for Maisie has been an absolute joy,” said Dimoldenberg. “From the moment I heard the track, I knew we had to lean into her gift for storytelling. I thought it would be interesting to subvert the ‘possessive girlfriend’ trope by making Maisie a literal bodyguard. It felt like a fun way to heighten the narrative.”

The full tracklisting for ‘Florescence’ is:

1. ‘Mary Janes’
2. ‘Audrey Hepburn’
3. ‘Say My Name In Your Sleep’
4. ‘Old Fashioned’
5. ‘Houses’
6. ‘Kingmaker’ (with Julia Michaels)
7. ‘Vampire Time’
8. ‘My Regards’
9. ‘You You You’
10. ‘If You Let Me’ (with Marcus Mumford)
11. ‘Flat Earther’
12. ‘Questions’
13. ‘Girl’s Just Flying’
14. ‘You Then Me Now’
15. ‘Nothing Like Being In Love’

She is also due to play a one-off show at London’s KOKO on March 25. You can purchase any remaining tickets here.

Peters previously worked with IDLES, Yard Act, Enter Shikari, jasmine 4.t and more to support the ‘Hope Over Fear’ t-shirt campaign organised by Music Declares Emergency.
