DirecTV is offering a five-day free trial for new subscribers.
Unfortunately, HBO Max doesn’t offer a free trial, but there’s a clever workaround. A subscription to DirecTV’s “Premier” plan gets you access to live TV, local and cable channels, including HBO Max to watch Lanterns when it airs. Plans start at $129.99 for the first month of service ($169.99 per month afterward), while the streaming platform offers a five-day free trial to watch for free.
In the meantime, DirecTV includes local networks such as ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX, as well as popular cable networks, including FX, AMC, A&E, Bravo, E!, Cartoon Network, ESPN, FS1, VH1, Fuse, CNN, Food Network, Lifetime, CNBC, BET, MTV, Paramount Network and many others.
Created by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King, Lanterns follows new Lantern Corps recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre), as he gets trained by veteran Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler). The two investigate a murder case in the heartland of America.
The TV series has music by Stephanie Economou, while it also stars Kelly Macdonald, Laura Linney, Garret Dillahunt, Jason Ritter, Poorna Jagannathan, Nathan Fillion and others.
Starting on Sunday (Aug. 16), Lanterns broadcasts on HBO and streams on HBO Max. In the meantime, watch a trailer for the DC Studios TV series below.
