Harry Styles Channels ‘Lord of the Dance’ in Hilarious St. Patrick’s Day ‘SNL’ Sketch Sketch: Watch

Harry Styles channeled Lord of the Dance in a hilarious St. Patrick’s Day–themed sketch on Saturday Night Live.

Pulling double duty as both host and musical guest during the late-night comedy show’s March 14 episode, the 32-year-old pop superstar appeared in a pre-recorded bit about a group of male friends who get an unexpected surprise while hitting the club.

The clip, titled “She’s an Irish Dancer,” opens with Styles smoothly crooning about partying in the VIP section with some girls who claim they’re dancers. “She says that she’s a dancer/ That means she’s a freak,” Styles sings.

After a bit of flirtation, one of the ladies (played by Chloe Fineman) pulls Styles aside for a private dance, only to reveal that she’s not the kind of dancer he expected. She then calls over her friends and breaks into over-the-top Irish dancing, complete with traditional costumes and headpieces, in full Riverdance-style fashion.

By the end, Styles has no choice but to “match their freak” before the scene cuts to him wearing a puffy, silky white shirt and black headband, proclaiming, “I’m about to go Lord of the Dance up in here.” Against a starry dark blue backdrop, he launches into an elaborate Irish-inspired routine, eventually joined by his friends on a foggy dancefloor.

The sketch concludes with Styles flashing a wink and wishing viewers a “Happy St. Paddy’s Day.”

Earlier in the show, Styles reflected on his time away from music during a hilarious opening monologue and later performed two tracks from his fourth album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.
