Graffiti Artist Tags Drake’s London OVO Storefront With Kendrick Lamar ‘Not Like Us’ Lyrics

After a weeks-long exchange of diss tracks, Drake and Kendrick have once again gone quiet — but their beef is no longer just their own as external figures pick sides

Since last week, Kendrick Lamar has released four diss tracks aimed at Drake, the ultimate target of his pure disdain. Drake managed to get some shots in, too, with two pointed responses released in the past few days. The Canadian rapper has, at least for now, gotten the last word in the feud that Kendrick emerged victorious from — but their beef is no longer their own as external figures pick sides.

On Tuesday, it was discovered that a graffiti artist tagged the storefront window of Drake’s October’s Very Own store location in London. “They not like us,” the silver lettering reads, quoting the lyrics to Kendrick’s most recent diss, “Not Like Us.” The record arrived on Saturday evening, less than 24 hours after the rapper released the sinister “Meet the Grahams” — less than half an hour after Drake responded to his initial diss with “Family Matters.”

Over the weekend, DJs and partygoers shared videos of “Not Like Us” playing at clubs and parties throughout the U.S., indicating that the song might be taking a true hold in the scene despite one of its most jarring lyrics being: “Certified Lover Boy? Certified pedophile.” As listeners continue to develop connections to the output from Drake and Kendrick’s fiery exchange, the smoke has settled over Toronto, too.

The same day that the OVO store graffiti was discovered, Drake‘s security guard was injured in a shooting outside the Canadian rapper’s home in Toronto earlier that morning. Drake was uninjured in the incident and has not been confirmed to have been home at the time of the shooting. The suspect reportedly fled in a vehicle, though no identifying descriptions have emerged since. Authorities are currently investigating the matter.

London officials haven’t announced any plans to investigate the store tagging, and no one has been arrested. There are no additional reports of vandalism at the ten OVO locations throughout North America.
