French Montana Offers to Help Taxi Driver Whose Car Was Damaged in Knicks Championship Celebration: ‘Somebody Find Him’

The New York Knicks captured the franchise’s first championship in 53 years on Saturday night (June 13), and it was absolute bedlam in the Big Apple streets. As fans celebrated the NBA Finals win, some took things too far by jumping on taxis, buses and other vehicles.

One viral clip found fans taking over a taxi driver’s car, and he could only watch in shock as the mob destroyed his way of making a living in a matter of minutes. As the footage circulated on social media, the video made it onto French Montana’s radar.

As an unofficial ambassador of the Knicks and New York’s rap scene, French stepped in to offer financial assistance to the taxi driver and asked for help tracking him down. “Somebody find him for me so we can help him get back on his feet,” the Coke Boys rapper wrote.

The New York Taxi Workers Alliance official X account replied, explaining that the man is actually part of their union and could help connect French to him.

Dreams became reality for millions of New Yorkers when the Knicks clinched the title with a win in game five of the NBA Finals over the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 behind 45 points from NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson.

Plenty of New York-bred artists have been bleeding orange and blue for the Knicks playoff run, as Cardi B, Fat Joe, Alicia Keys and Jennifer Lopez all celebrated the Knicks championship on social media.

The celebration and festivities will continue on Thursday morning (Jun 18) when the Knicks will ride down the Canyon of Heroes at the team’s official championship parade in NYC.

A longtime Knicks fan, French Montana teamed up with Max B and Remy Ma for the “Ever Since U Left Me (Knicks Edition)” remix earlier in June, which served as the soundtrack to NBA Finals broadcasts on ABC.
