Dolly Parton Thanks Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce for Million Donation to Imagination Library

Dolly Parton is expressing her gratitude to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

The country icon took to Instagram on Friday (July 3) to thank the pop superstar and Kansas City Chiefs tight end for their generous pre-wedding donation of $2 million to her Imagination Library, a literacy program that provides free books to children.

Ahead of their Fourth of July weekend wedding, Swift and Kelce pledged $26 million to charities across the United States, including the Grammy Museum Foundation, New York Cares, Harvesters in Kansas City, and Parton’s Imagination Library.

“Taylor and Travis, it’s Dolly,” Parton began in her video message to the soon-to-be-married couple. “I was just told that you two are making a donation of $2 million to my Imagination Library. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I’m blown away and overjoyed with that gratitude.”

She added, “Now, it’s evident that you two have made giving back a key part of your lives. So, hey, when you have your first born, can I have it? Because that is gonna be one special baby!”

Parton went on to highlight the mission of her Dollywood Foundation — to “dream more, care more, learn more, and be more” — and said Swift and Kelce’s contribution will “continue that mission even in bigger ways.”

She closed the video by singing a snippet of her 1974 classic “I Will Always Love You.”

News of Swift and Kelce’s $26 million in charitable donations was announced earlier this week. On Thursday (July 2), the 14-time Grammy winner’s representative shared a list of organizations receiving contributions from the couple.

Many of the beneficiaries are located in places that hold personal significance for Swift and Kelce, including Reading, Pennsylvania, and Cleveland — their respective hometowns — as well as Nashville and Kansas City, where they built their careers. They also donated to several New York City-based organizations ahead of their wedding celebration, which is set to take place Friday (July 3) at Madison Square Garden.
