Everything seems to be coming up roses: Harry Styles will bring his Together, Together tour into 2027. He’s hitting six North American cities and then heading overseas, accompanied by stellar openers that include Caroline Polachek, Tinashe, Tears for Fears, Lainey Wilson, and more (Styles has a knack for choosing excellent supporting acts). Whatever next year brings, we’ll still be able to dance with all our friends.
Styles touring for the first time in three years is, as my colleague Rob Sheffield said, “The kind of pop spectacle that leaves feathers all over the floor and hysteria lingering in the air.” The show kicked off in Amsterdam last spring, following the release of his new album Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, and he’s only ramped it up since then, particularly with his 30-date Madison Square Garden run that just keeps getting better and better. “We’re gonna sing together, we’re gonna dance together, we’re gonna share this moment together, we’re gonna sweat together,” he told the crowd one night. “It’s gonna be a DISGUSTING evening!”

He’s Never Been a Better Live Performer
Styles gears up for each Together, Together show well before he even enters the venue — take his six-mile run to Wembley earlier this summer, or the many times he’s been spotted walking around New York City, including that one day he traveled from Brooklyn to Manhattan on foot for his final tour rehearsal. So it’s no surprise that the marathon runner delivers a high-energy show at the Garden with zero dull moments, a tight one-hour-and-50-minute evening packed with pure delight. His vocals have never sounded better — watch him climb those high notes on the chill-inducing “Sign of the Times,” or belt the celebratory closer “Aperture.” He rarely takes a beat, dancing around the glowing oval cat walk that surrounds the stage, cracking jokes to the crowd (it isn’t discussed enough just how humorous this guy can be). Take Aug. 29, the third night of the residency, when he playfully referenced Taylor Swift’s big day: “We’re at Madison Square Garden, home of the world champion New York Knicks!” he said. “And they also do weddings.”

The Crowd Is One Giant Family
There’s a lot of love in the audience at Together Together, with some celebrating birthdays (Styles will often sing to them), weddings, pregnancies, or just any old Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday. Fans communicate on group texts titled “Harry MSG,” trading bracelets and glow sticks while bedazzled in sequins. Bad vibes are left on the Penn Station subway platform, and everyone is just happy to be here — so happy that, sometimes, Styles has to remind the crowd to breathe.
The Intimate Moments Hit Hard
Together, Together has some quiet moments, like the beautiful rendition of “Sweet Creature,” performed by vocalists Laura Bibbs and Lorren Chiodo, or when Styles sits down at a Rhodes MK8 to deliver “Carla’s Song” and “Coming Up Roses” on the keys. Accompanied by a string section, it’s the most stunning segment of the evening, with the entire arena silently listening to these stripped-down and vulnerable ballads that showcase Styles’ songwriting (and that killer Simon & Garfunkel shoutout on “Carla’s Song”). The delicate performance also proves why “Roses,” the magical centerpiece of Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, is arguably one of the best songs of his career — and not just because it makes a hangover sound incredibly romantic and not at all painful.
Styles also uses this moment of stillness to speak with the audience, like on Sept. 12, when he clarified the letter he wrote to fans about the “final” Together, Together 2027 tour dates, particularly the line “I don’t know what comes next for me” that shocked fans. “I’m not trying to be dramatic, I’m just saying, don’t worry,” he said. “I love you, and I wanted to speak to you like I would speak to my friends about this. I feel like getting to the end and saying ‘until next time’ is not enough. I just wanted to be a little more open with you.”

“Kiwi” — And His Band — Get Some Love
At first, “Kiwi” was noticeably absent from Together, Together. But that changed when Styles arrived at the Garden, because it’s New York, baby, and we’re always jacked up. The glittery rocker, off his self-titled 2017 debut, is back — and it’s harder, better, faster, and stronger than ever, as he remixes it with LCD Soundsystem’s “Daft Punk Is Playing at My House” and turns the arena into a debauched house party. The band gets a moment to shine, as Styles introduces each member, from bassist Elin Sandberg to guitarist Mitch Rowland (fans were particularly excited to see those two jam it out). It’s a highlight of the evening, and if we’re lucky he’ll keep it going next year.
He Honors His Heroes
During the opening night of the Garden residency on Aug. 29, Styles paid tribute to Dolly Parton, who died four days earlier at the age of 80. “I Will Always Love You” blasted from the speakers, and Styles spoke about the late country music legend. “I just wanna give a proper thank you to all the musicians who have inspired me over the years,” he told the audience. “Dolly, we love you. Thank you so much.”
On Sept 4, Night Five of the residency, he also took a moment to remember Gloria Steinem, the trailblazing feminist activist who recently died at 92. “We’re in this strange moment in the world that is so difficult right now, and we keep losing incredible people,” he said. “Dolly Parton, Gloria Steinem. They were incredible. And being in these rooms with you makes me feel so incredibly hopeful about the future — of what you can achieve together.”

His Fashion Is a Show in Itself
New York Fashion Week is just six days long, but Harry at the Garden is 30. And while Styles has been a fashion icon for years, he’s turned up the dial for Together, Together, changing up the fit each night. A leopard print button-down? Check. A sequined aqua shirt? Got that, too. There’s also ties, ties, and some more ties, plus a sprinkling of shorts — which he razzes himself for wearing. “Quite aggressive, this angle, when I’m wearing shorts, isn’t it?” he said one night. “Just don’t look.” But perhaps he said it best on June 27 at Wembley, where he sported a mustard yellow suit with matching shorts: “We’re gonna have fun together, we’re gonna dance together, we’re gonna sweat together! It’s a Saturday night… and I’ve got on a pair of slutty little shorts!”
It’s Crawling With Celebs
Famous people are just like us — they want to dance with all their friends. Celebrities have always come out to enjoy Styles’ concerts, and the Together, Together tour is no exception. At the Garden residency alone, we’ve seen Bruce Springsteen, Lizzo, Mick Fleetwood, Blackpink’s Jennie, Drew Barrymore, and more in the crowd at 4 Pennsylvania Plaza. He rarely addresses them directly, but on Sept. 9, during the ninth night of the residency, he shouted out New York Knicks point guard and NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson. “We may or may not have the king of New York in the house tonight,” he told the audience, saluting the champion. “He’s just trying to have a quiet night out. Not a chance! It’s like Mickey Mouse going to Disneyland. Thank you for being here with us. Congratulations.”
