Catfish and the Bottlemen Are Coming Back Stateside

Back to the graft again is right. Just as they teased on the aptly-titled single “Showtime” in February, Catfish and the Bottlemen will return on the road this fall for their first North American headlining tour since 2019. The highly anticipated announcement comes on the heels of U.K. headlining dates, which were released in tandem with the single. The U.K. rockers will also be headlining the Reading and Leeds festival this summer. Their show at Cardiff Castle will mark the first time lead singer Van McCann and co will take the stage together since 2021.

Fans were abuzz when Catfish and the Bottlemen subtly hinted at their return to the U.S. by posting black-and-white, captionless photos of Times Square in New York and the Capitol Records building in Los Angeles via Instagram. The band’s North American tour will kick off in October at the Palladium Theater in L.A. after the band makes an appearance at the Austin City Limits festival in Austin, Texas.

Tickets for the tour will be available beginning with an artist presale launching on May 8, with additional presales running throughout the week ahead of the general sale beginning on May 12. More information can be found at Catfish and the Bottlemen’s website.

The flurry of live dates and yet-to-be-announced fourth studio album comes as a welcome surprise to Catfish fans who were weary of the band’s future following the departure of two long-term band members. Drummer Bob Hall left in September 2021. The following year, guitarist Johnny Bond announced he had actually left the band in March 2021 (despite filling in as a session musician), just two days after Catfish and the Bottlemen pulled out of their rescheduled opening slot for fellow Welsh rockers Stereophonics. Bond cited “intolerable” behavior and dysfunctional “personal and professional relationships.”

Catfish and the Bottlemen have clearly returned, but it remains to be seen in what capacity.
