Billie Eilish says Lana Del Rey Coachella collab was “literally a hallucination” and that ‘Ocean Eyes’ “wouldn’t exist” without her

Billie Eilish has shared that her Lana Del Rey Coachella collab was “literally a hallucination”, adding that ‘Ocean Eyes’ “wouldn’t exist” without her.

Eilish took the time to reflect on her surprise appearance during Del Rey’s headlining set at  weekend one of the annual music and arts festival on her Instagram Stories.

The ‘Bad Guy’ singer opened up about the creation of her debut single ‘Ocean Eyes’, writing: “This song wouldn’t even exist without her,” (per Billboard). She went on to add that the duet that the duo performed was “literally a hallucination.”

Del Rey and Eilish performed two songs together during the ‘Born To Die’ singer’s headlining set. After their rendition of ‘Ocean Eyes’, the two jumped into Del Rey’s 2012 hit ‘Video Games’.

Following the performance, Lana said to the young crowd that Eilish is “the voice of your generation”, adding that she is “so fucking grateful that she’s standing next to me right now singing my favourite song of hers.”

In response, Eilish pointed to Del Rey and said: “This is the reason for half of you bitches’ existence, including mine.”

Prior to Eilish’s surprise appearance, Lana Del Rey brought out Jon Batiste to perform ‘Candy Necklace’, and invited Jack Antonoff onstage to play piano for ‘Hope Is A Dangerous Thing For A Woman Like Me To Have – But I Have It’.

Del Rey showed up early for her set, riding to the stage on the back of a motorbike, after having had her Glastonbury 2023 set cut short due to curfew restrictions when she showed up late for the headlining slot.

In other news, Eilish recently revealed the tracklist for her highly anticipated third studio album, ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’.

Yesterday (April 18) – a month ahead of the album’s release – Eilish took to social media, where she revealed the titles of all 10 tracks on the album. However, the tracklist does not include other information including tracks’ length, credits, or if there will be any guest features.
