Jack White Blasts Elon Musk, ‘Orange F-king Gorilla’ Trump in Live Version of ‘Corporation’

The musician altered the lyrics to the biting Boarding House Reach track during his concert in Boston last month

Jack White wrapped up the first North American leg of his No Name tour in Boston last month, and his final show featured a special performance of “Corporation,” the bitting Boarding House Reach track he’d only performed once before during the trek. While the song already reads like a bitter rebuke of unfettered American capitalism (“I’m gonna buy up all the empty lots and make one giant farm/Who’s with me?”), White made the song’s message even more pointed in Boston, introducing new lyrics all about Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

While the performance happened back on Feb. 18, as Consequence of Sound notes, video of this new version of “Corporation” has only just started to spread online. After the line, “I was thinking about becoming an oligarch, who’s with me?” White launched into a verse very much inspired by Musk, his previous reliance on the federal government, and his current efforts to gut it.

“I was thinking about taking government subsidies and starting my own electric car company. Who’s with me? I’m thinking about not being elected. Never holding a public office. Never serving one day of military service. But somehow having the authority to control parts of the U.S. Government. Who’s with me?”

As if his point wasn’t clear enough, White then added, “I’m thinking about not being properly vetted by the Supreme Court or Congress, just doing whatever the hell I want because some fucking bloated asshole orange fucking gorilla who’s failed at every business he’s ever ran wants me to be his golf cart partner!”

White, of course, has never shirked a chance to rip into Trump over the years. Last fall, he even sued the president’s campaign over a video that featured the White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army,” though the suit was voluntarily dropped after Trump won the 2024 election.

White has a few shows scheduled in Japan this month, after which he’ll kick off another North American tour in support of his latest album, No Name. That run starts April 3 in St. Louis and wraps May 24 in Troutdale, Oregon.
