The celebration of music touches down at SXSW and will reverberate throughout Austin as JBL hosts live performances and DJ sets from some of SXSW’s most exciting artists. Get ready for JBL’s Sound Bodega, an Austin-inspired corner store experience where fans will be immersed in a playground of audio technology. Popping up at ACL Live at 3TEN from March 11th-13th, the Sound Bodega will be stocked up with everything audiophiles could ask for, and then some.
This all comes thanks to an exciting new partnership between JBL and Rolling Stone where the two are coming together to champion the future of music and the future of sound.
On Tuesday, March 11th, the JBL Sound Bodega opens up with a kick-off event where the illustrious DJ Pee .Wee (aka Anderson .Paak) is set to deliver a first-of-its-kind live performance that highlights JBL’s game changing audio technology. Before he hits the stage, attendees will be treated to a special DJ set from Laila!, a rapidly-rising R’n’B artist and heir to Yasiin Bey, who will be performing at Rolling Stone’s Future of Music showcase later in the night.
From March 12th-13th fans can stop by the JBL Sound Bodega from 1-7pm before heading over to the Future of Music showcase right next door. Inside this unmissable, vibrant orange activation, fans will be fully immersed in JBL’s signature sound experience and will get up-close-and-personal with more rising music stars including 18-year-old guitar sensation Grace Bowers, classically-trained DJ, producer and dance music star LP Giobbi, inspiring Liberia-born, Tennessee-based Afro-Appalachian folk artist Mon Rovîa, and Mexican-American rapper and producer Nsqk, among others.
Beyond the music, interactive games, bodega-inspired photo ops, and exciting giveaways await – offering fans chances to win JBL products, merch, and exclusive tickets to the Future of Music showcase. And just like your favorite corner store, the JBL Sound Bodega will offer a curated selection of drinks, snacks, and sweet treats from local hotspots.
As the exclusive audio partner of SXSW, the festivities don’t stop at 3TEN—JBL is bringing immersive sound to every corner of Austin. Austin students can expect exclusive campus activations and a JBL-hosted showcase with performances by local band West 22nd and a high-energy DJ set from XANDRA at Victory Lap. In true SXSW fashion, attendees can also join JBL for a lively panel discussion that will dive into the blueprint for creator collaborations, featuring industry leaders like XANDRA and top esports creator Cody “Clix” Conrod.
