The Canadian pop star will perform alongside Madonna, Shakira and BTS during the tournament’s first-ever, Super Bowl-style event at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on July 19.

Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel, PS22 Chorus who will perform with Coldplay and the Sesame Street muppets, are also set to appear during the 11-minute set show.

The event aims to support the Fifa Global Citizen Education Fund, which seeks to raise $100million (£74.5million) to enhance children’s access to education and soccer worldwide.

Already, the initiative has raised over $30million (£22.3million), and $1 (75p) from every ticket sold to FIFA World Cup 2026 matches will be donated throughout the tournament.

“The Fifa World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can. I’m grateful to be part of this halftime show, and even more grateful knowing it’s already helping expand access to education for children around the world,” Bieber said in a statement.

It follows Bieber’s headline appearance at this year’s Coachella back in April.

Shakira, Burna Boy and J Balvin lit up the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico City’s historic Azteca Stadium.

The show featured Shakira and Burna Boy’s official anthem for this World Cup, ‘Dai Dai’, a song which mentions football legends Pele, Diego Maradona, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Mo Salah.

‘Dai Dai’ is Shakira’s third official World Cup song, after 2010’s ‘Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)’ and 2014’s ‘Dare (La La La)’.

Elsewhere, Noel Gallagher recently confirmed that he won’t be watching the forthcoming halftime show, claiming that he will be “doing the half-time raffle for a leg of lamb” instead.

He also said he wasn’t a fan of the upcoming show, explaining: “I don’t like changes in football. I’m looking forward to these new rules about corners and time-wasting, that might be a good thing for the game, but I don’t like the razzmatazz of football; it’s been functioning perfectly for hundreds of years.”

Gallagher then cheekily added: “They’re not really football people who are performing anyway, are they?”
