Beabadoobee Taps the Marías for Grungy Stunner ‘All I Did Was Dream of You’

The track marks the Brit singer’s first new release in two years

Beabadoobee is back — and more cinematic than ever. The British pop-rocker has returned with grungy new single “All I Did Was Dream of You,” and made several dreams come true when she tapped the Marías for the track.

“Stay, stay/Stay or just leave me be,” Beabadoobee sings wistfully against a crush of heavy riffs. María Zardoya’s haunting soprano comes in on the second verse to sing, “Nightmares always feel like/They swallow me/But I let go.”

Beabadoobee also shared a stunning visual for the new track. Filmed in Vilnius, Lithuania, the video finds the singer in a snowy daydream as she walks through several vignettes: a hockey player-filled bar, a butcher, and a frozen lake. The winter wonderland turns nightmarish after a car explosion, which Beabadoobee walks through unbothered.

Directed by Jake Erland, Bea’s longtime partner and collaborator, the video was inspired by Yorgos Lanthimos’ 2025 film, Bugonia. “My boyfriend and I are fucking obsessed with Yorgos — and that last scene inspired the video,” Bebadoobee said in a recent interview. In the same interview, the singer also confirmed that Zardoya “couldn’t be in the video, but she sang beautifully on the song and was really encouraging.”

“All I Did Was Dream of You” marks the first official taste of new music from Beabadoobee in nearly two years. Recently, the singer contributed a cover of Elliott Smith’s “Say Yes” to War Child’s collaborative album HELP (2), but she hasn’t released any original music since 2024’s This Is How Tomorrow Moves.

“It’s a nice bridge to the next thing I want to release,” Beabadoobee said of the new song. “I literally can’t wait to release something, honestly — I’m fucking dying,” she added.
