Céline Dion Spreads Holiday Cheer as the Grinch

The five-time Grammy award-winning vocalist celebrated the holidays with an all-green transformation

Someone stole Christmas — and they look a lot like Céline Dion.

The five-time Grammy award-winning vocalist celebrated the holidays with a special Instagram video post on Christmas eve. In it, she dons a full Grinch costume, complete with the nose, hair, and temper that defined the 1957 Dr. Seuss classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas, with a nod to Jim Carrey’s humorous performance in the 2000 film of the same name. Dion’s costume was made complete by a canine companion to act as her Max.

What’s on the schedule for the green Christmas she’s been dreaming of? It appears she has a calendar full of exercising her voice, waking up her children, jazzercize, solo dinner, and of course, solving world hunger and telling no one. “Of course if I bumped my creative ideas to 9, I’ll still have time to lay in bed and scroll TikTok videos endlessly,” she says in the clip. “Or, I can just simply wish everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”

She also gave a Grinch rendition to her iconic hit cover of Eric Carmen’s “All By Myself,” a pointed nod to the Grinch’s Christmas-induced malaise as she finished with the lyrics, “When I was young, I never needed anyone.”

Holiday cheer and well-wishes have become a constant for Dion, as the singer has continued to publicly share her struggle with stiff-person disorder. (According to the Cleveland Clinic, the syndrome attacks the nervous system and causes pain and muscle spasms. There is no cure.) She gave fans an in-depth look in how the disease affected her mobility and voice in the 2024 Amazon Prime documentary I Am: Celine Dion.

“I haven’t beat the disease, as it’s still within me and always will be. I hope that we’ll find a miracle, a way to cure it with scientific research, but for now I have to learn to live with it,” She told Vogue France in 2024. “At the beginning, I would ask myself: ‘Why me? How did this happen? What have I done? Is this my fault?’ Life doesn’t give you any answers. You just have to live it!”
