The romcom series, an original Netflix Argentina production, charts the travails of 39-year-old Vicky (Griselda Siciliani), single, chaotic, envious self-saboteur who finally realizes her insecurities lead her to one crisis after another, and finally, to weekly psychotherapy sessions. In this third season, Vicky is seemingly happy, in love, with a new architecture degree, but struggling to find a job. This is how she and Martina (Nicole) meet.
“For me, singing and acting are two worlds that seem very different, but in reality, they are pretty similar — especially if you are passionate about it,” Nicki tells Billboard about her first foray into acting. “Before I acted for the first time, I was afraid of not doing it well, and also a little hesitant to let myself go. Besides needing to fulfill a character and a script, it’s also about enjoying it and letting yourself go. But I think I had a team that made it really, really easy for me, and I enjoyed it a lot. So, for me, they complement each other.”
Nicole’s character enters the scene as a sweet and seemingly unassuming young woman applying for a job at the exact same moment as Vicky. Martina is not just any candidate — she’s the granddaughter of one of the city’s most renowned architects, which immediately sets the stakes higher for Vicky. Despite her own qualifications and unwavering belief that she deserves the position, Vicky can’t help but feel threatened by Martina’s family legacy and youthful energy. This encounter stirs up Vicky’s insecurities and sets the stage for a spirited rivalry, as she fears that Martina might easily win the opportunity she’s worked so hard for. Later, they bond, and Martina becomes Vicky’s assistant.
Already a massive Envidiosa fan, Nicole hinted that there was possibly “something good” to come from Virtudes in upcoming seasons, but she did have some advice for Vicky’s therapist: “She should be more strict with her.”
