Zara Larsson has announced an all-star ‘Midnight Sun’ remix album, inspired by the ‘Brat’ spinoff record.
The Swedish pop star released her fifth studio record last summer, including the singles ‘Pretty Ugly’, ‘Midnight Sun’ and ‘Crush’, and now she has revealed details of a deluxe edition, titled ‘Midnight Sun: Girls Trip’.
It will see a range of big names featuring on new versions of songs from the album, including PinkPantheress, Shakira, Tyla, Robyn, Madison Beer, Kehlani and Bambii. It will be released on May 1 via Sommer House/Epic Records and you can pre-order it here.
Larsson announced the album on Instagram on Wednesday (April 22), posting a video in which she enters a petrol station and picks out keychains with all of the collaborators’ names on them.
“I’m so so so so so honored and excited for this,” she wrote. “And you know what’s crazy? This is just the beginning of girls trip!!! Like HELLO This summer is gonna be madness.”

During a soundcheck before a show in Philadelphia on March 30, Larsson responded to a fan’s question that asked whether ‘Girls Trip’ would be a similar concept to Charli XCX’s ‘Brat And It’s Completely Different But Also Still Brat’.
“Totally, that’s literally what it is,” she said. “It’s going to be amazing. It’s really, really fun…It’s really fun to reimagine it, and give it more life, and bring some new energy onto it with some incredible people, to expand the world.”
Elsewhere, Larsson will be playing at a number of festivals this summer, including Mad Cool, Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Lollapalooza, Montreux Jazz, Sziget, Pinkpop, Open’er, All Points East and Parklife.
She was also one of the big names to join PinkPantheress at Coachella this month, and she recently featured on Tyla’s new single ‘She Did It Again’.
Larsson also came out in defence of Chappell Roan this month, describing her critics as being driven by sexism. “When a woman has boundaries, I think people freak out,” she said. “Men can do violent criminal things, and people applaud them, but when a woman says, ‘Stop following me,’ it’s controversial? It’s like, ‘You guys just hate women, actually.’”
