Yungblud announces “new chapter” ‘Idols II’: “It’s about realising that you can feel invincible when you actually feel yourself”

Yungblud has announced the second part of his ‘Idols’ album, and revealed that it marks the start of an uplifting “new chapter”.

The first part of the concept album was released in June 2025, and featured hit singles including ‘Hello Heaven, Hello’, ‘Lovesick Lullaby’ and ‘Zombie’.

The Doncaster-born singer – real name Dominic Harrison – also confirmed that a second part to the record was in the works, and was set to put forward a more sombre mood than its predecessor.

“Part one is about the reclamation of yourself: ‘All you are is a self-fulfilling prophecy / A product of your own temptation’,” he told NME over the summer. “Part two is the dark and downward spiral to the inevitable realisation that I’m not going to be here forever – who do I want to spend my life with? Mortality. Part two plummets you back down to earth, and it’s a little bit more cynical.”

Now, he has officially announced the second instalment of the album, and confirmed that it will be released this Friday (February 20) via Island Records/Locomotion. Visit here to pre-order.

It will feature six brand new songs, as well as the new version of ‘Zombie’, which he released at the start of the year in collaboration with The Smashing Pumpkins.

“This is it. The second chapter of the ‘Idols’ story,” Harrison shared. “‘Part 1’ was a journey that helped me reclaim my identity from the darkest position I’ve ever been in my life. ‘Part 2′ is about realising that I am alive, that I am real, that this journey that I’ve been on didn’t kill me.”

“It’s about realising that you can feel invincible when you actually feel yourself. It’s about comprehending that my heart is beating and that my lungs are filling up with air,” he added, also revealing that the forthcoming lead single from ‘Part 2’ will be called ‘Suburban Requiem’.

The ‘Idols: Part II’ tracklist is:

‘I Need You (To Make The World Seem Fine)’
‘The Postman’
‘Zombie (feat. The Smashing Pumpkins)’
‘Time’
‘War Part II’
‘Blueberry Hill’
‘Suburban Requiem’

The second part of ‘Idols’ sees Yungblud team up with producer Matt Schwarz again, and will arrive after the first part marked the singer’s third consecutive UK Number One album.

Since it arrived in June, Harrison has gone on to secure another Number One spot on the charts – joining forces with Aerosmith for their collaborative record ‘One More Time’. That release marked the first ever UK number one album for Steven Tyler and co.

Earlier this month, Yungblud also took home a Grammy for his powerful rendition of ‘Changes’ at Villa Park last year as part of Black Sabbath’s ‘Back to the Beginning’ farewell show. He performed the classic Ozzy Osbourne track alongside Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt, Anthrax’s Frank Bello, keyboardist/guitarist Adam Wakeman, and Sleep Token’s drummer, II.

On stage at the awards ceremony, he was joined by Sharon Osbourne and gave an impassioned speech, explaining how Ozzy inspired him over the years.

He was nominated for multiple awards at this year’s Grammys – up for Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song, and Best Rock Album – and was the first British artist in history to earn three nominations in the rock categories in a single year.

This spring, Yungblud will kick off a huge UK arena tour, which includes a slot at The O2 in London on April 24.

The dates were initially set to begin in Dublin on April 15, but more shows were added due to high demand, meaning that the tour now kicks off with gigs in Sheffield, Liverpool and Belfast on April 11, 12 and 14. Visit here for remaining tickets.
