Will ‘Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party Of A Showgirl’ be available to stream?

Taylor Swift’s The Official Release Party Of A Showgirl is coming to cinemas this weekend, but will it be available to stream? Find out below.

The pop giant’s 12th studio album ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ is coming out on Friday (October 3), the follow-up to last year’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’.

To accompany the release, an 89-minute “release party” event is coming to cinemas around the world across three days this weekend (October 3 to 5). It will include the premiere of the lead single ‘The Fate Of Ophelia’, as well as behind-the-scenes footage of the video, lyric videos of the album’s tracks and Swift’s commentary on the songs.

It was recently reported that the film event grossed $15million (£11million) in pre-sales in the first 24 hours, outpacing the pre-sales of the hugely successful The Eras Tour concert film in 2023 in many territories. Deadline have estimated that the film will make between $30million and $50million worldwide.

When announcing Release Party Of A Showgirl, Swift described the film as “a *dazzling* soirée”.

She continued: “You’ll get to see the exclusive world premiere of the music video for my new single ‘The Fate Of Ophelia’, along with never before seen behind-the-scenes footage of how we made it, cut by cut explanations of what inspired this music, and the brand new lyric videos from my new album ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’

“Looks like it’s time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan… Tickets are on sale now. Dancing is optional but very much encouraged.”

‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ was co-produced by Max Martin and Shellback, alongside Swift herself. The singer has revealed the full tracklist for the album, which includes a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter on the title track.

Swift has described the LP as “the record I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time”. The project will focus on “what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life” during the record-breaking ‘Eras Tour’.

Will Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party Of A Showgirl be available to stream?

There are currently no official details on whether The Official Release Party Of A Showgirl will be released on a streaming service, so it currently remains an exclusive cinematic release.

The Eras Tour film eventually ended up streaming on Disney+, five months after its initial release in cinemas, so it is possible that the new film will be available for Swifties to watch at home in the future.

NME awarded The Eras Tour film four stars, noting: “It’s a staggering feat. In the space of one seamless performance, Swift is at turns a playfully eccentric artist, a country star and a genuine pop icon. Yet for all the spectacle, it might be those acoustic songs that linger longest in the memory. Her performance alone at the piano of choice ‘Midnights’ cut ‘You’re On Your Own, Kid’, and the 10-minute version of ‘All Too Well’ that closes the ‘Red’ era, are spectacular reminders of what Taylor Swift can do with just an instrument and the power of her voice. Of course, as The Eras Tour proves time and again, Taylor Swift can do pretty much whatever she wants.”
