North Carolina indie rockers introduced “June 2 (Early Version)” into their set-list rotation this year
One year ago this week, Wednesday released their sixth album, the excellent Bleeds. To celebrate the anniversary, the North Carolina band will release a deluxe version of the LP on Friday, Sept. 18.
The 20-track Bleeds Deluxe boasts several remixes (including Animal Collective’s Avey Tare on “Carolina Murder Suicide”) and demos. They previewed the collection with the blissful “June 2 (Early Version),” produced by Kenneth Blume (a.k.a. Kenny Beats), which you can check out below.
Wednesday began incorporating “June 2” into their set-list rotation earlier this year. They’ll continue touring this month and through the fall, supporting Tyler Childers and Mannequin Pussy on various dates. They also have several festivals booked for early 2027.

Last year, lead singer and songwriter Karly Hartzman broke down several key Bleeds tracks for Rolling Stone. “I’m always just on like a continuous writing mode,” she told us. “I write whenever I get even the slightest feeling. Whenever I feel inspired by something I’m experiencing or remembering or watching or reading, it’s like a million different things, so I just never stop.”
