NME arrived at Glastonbury 2025 bright and early this morning (Wednesday June 25) – but not as early as the thousands who came to Worthy Farm to be amongst the first through the gates. Watch our video of Glasto’s earliest arrivals above.
Michael, Emily and the Eavis family were present for the ceremonial countdown – flanked by Oxfam workers and a brass band playing music from Star Wars – to welcome in the fans in to Worthy Farm. NME met Glasto-goers, many of whom had travelled from across the world and slept outside overnight, who wanted to get in early to secure a good camping spot.
As well as sharing their tips for getting to the front of the queue and surviving the legendary Pilton spectacular, the campers also named the likes of CMAT, Charli XCX, Biffy Clyro and the diverse electronic line-up as ones to watch, as well as anticipated headliners The 1975, Olivia Rodrigo and this year’s Sunday legends slot-filler, Rod Stewart.
Rumours around this year’s secret sets continued to swirl – including the debate over whether Patchwork is the hotly-tipped Pulp or new contender Chappell Roan, as well as if the whispers of Haim, Lorde and Lewis Capaldi filling the big ‘TBA’ slots will come to fruition.
The iconic festival is back at Worthy Farm in Somerset between June 25 – 29, ahead of a fallow year in 2026. Headliners are Neil Young, Rod Stewart, The 1975 and Olivia Rodrigo on the Pyramid Stage, while Loyle Carner, Charli XCX and The Prodigy will perform on the Other Stage.
Other big names on the bill include Biffy Clyro, The Maccabees, Lucy Dacus, Father John Misty, RAYE, Wolf Alice, The Prodigy, Doechii, St. Vincent, Deftones, The Libertines, Wet Leg, Weezer, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Future Islands, JADE, TV On The Radio, Self Esteem, CMAT, Blossoms and Turnstile.
A number of significant changes have been made to the site at Glasto this year, with Emily Eavis revealing that they had been “trying to make as much space as possible” and “selling a few thousand less tickets” for 2025.
She also said that she “did not believe” that the BBC would be broadcasting Neil Young’s headline set – with him currently not appearing in their coverage plans for the weekend –
