Swift’s new Disney+ six-part series, Taylor Swift: The End Of An Era, which debuted with its first two episodes on Friday (December 12), with further instalments set to arrive in pairs on December 19 and 26.
The show chronicles Swift’s record-smashing 149-date tour, which launched in March 2023 and concluded with a show in Vancouver last December, grossing over $2billion through ticket sales.
In the second episode, Swift shared the moment where she surprised tour team members with the bonuses, and revealed that she prepared gifts for everyone on the crew at the end of each leg of the tour.
It was previously reported that Swift had given around $197million (£152million) in bonuses to workers on the tour.
“Bonus day is so important, because setting a precedent with The Eras Tour is so important to me, because people who work on the road, if the tour grosses more, they get more of a bonus,” Swift said, while hand-writing letters for each member of her team.

Swift didn’t disclose how money each team member received, but the docuseries did show their reactions to the bonuses.
This included a clip of a production assistant, Max Holmes, who was visibly shocked when he opened the envelope from Swift, saying: “I’m gonna pass out.”
Later in the show, Swift brought her on-stage crew, including her dancers and band, together so she could personally hand out bonuses. While opening his card from Swift, dancer Kameron Saunders read the message out loud.
“Dearest Kam, we’ve travelled the world like we set out to do. We’ve dazzled the crowds, but we’ve missed family, too. My full gratitude doesn’t come from a bank, but here’s [bleep] dollars just to say thanks. Love, Taylor,” he read, with the amount of his bonus undisclosed.
The rest of the staff burst into tears when learning of the amount, with Swift celebrating with them and hugging them. Watch the moment below.

Last December, it was revealed that in total, the worldwide trek sold $2,077,618,725 (£1.6billion) worth of tickets, per the New York Times.
In August 2023, it was revealed that she had given out over $55million (£43million) in bonuses to the crew members working on the tour.
Mike Scherkenbach, who runs the concert transportation company Shomotion, was one of many production crew members to receive bonuses of $100,000 (£77,000) each and shared how the bonus was life-changing for some of the individuals.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Scherkenbach shared: “She’s giving a sum of money that is life-changing for these people,” Scherkenbach said. “A lot of these drivers are not homeowners, and a lump sum like this gives you the ability to put a down payment on a home. That’s what makes me really happy. That generosity is a game changer for these people.”
Also released on Friday was Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour – The Final Show, a concert film made up of the entire ‘Tortured Poets Department’ set from the final Vancouver show.
In a three-star review of the series, NME wrote: “There’s a great documentary to be made about ‘The Eras Tour’, but it’s probably an unofficial one exploring the unique sense of community it fostered among the singer’s fanbase. “It’s like Woodstock without the drugs,” one commentator notes here, entirely without shade. For now, though, The End Of An Era is solid content for Swifties wanting to relive the tour’s huge collective dopamine hit.”
In other news, Swift has quietly changed the lyrics of two ‘Reputation’ tracks, fuelling speculation amongst fans that new music could be coming.
