Watch The 1975’s Matty Healy join Dijon and Mk.gee on stage in LA

Dijon surprised fans in Los Angeles by bringing out The 1975‘s Matty Healy and Mk.gee for an unexpected appearance. Check out the footage below.

The moment took place last night (Wednesday October 29), as the American singer-songwriter, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist took to the stage as part of his ongoing 2025 headline tour dates.

The shows kicked off on October 25 and 26 with two stops in San Diego, and moved over to Los Angeles’ The Greek Theater on October 28 and 29.

It was at the latter that Dijon caught audience members off guard by bringing out the two artists as special guests. While details still remain unclear, footage has been emerging from excited fans online, who have been sharing clips of them both getting into the groove with the producer.

Check out some of the clips below.

Since the clips have been shared online, numerous fans have taken to social media to share their excitement. “Matty on stage at Dijon’s concert with Mkgee… I just exploded don’t text,” one wrote, while another added: “this is CRAZYYY”.

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN MATTY ON STAGE WITH DIJON AND MKGEE I SHOULDVE GONE TO NIGHT 2,” wrote a third, while someone else shared: “WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!!!!! THIS IS HUGE THE LAYERS TO THIS OH MY GODDD OH MY GOD LIFE REALLY IS WORTH LIVINGGGG”.

Unsurprisingly, the appearances also got some fans speculating that there could be something bigger on the way.

“Matty and MK.gee just for night 2 in LA is insane. Dijon is likely collaborating on the next 1975 album so it makes sense,” one fan wrote on Instagram, while another agreed, saying that Healy appearing on stage with Dijon could suggest that the new “album is ready”. While there is no indication that the guest appearances from both symbolise anything to do with forthcoming music, it is true that The 1975 have been working on a new album.

Earlier this year, the band confirmed that their headline Glastonbury performance would be their only show of 2025, and their manager and Dirty Hit label boss Jamie Oborne added that they were finalising their “pretty extraordinary” new album.

The slot at Glasto came on the heels of their last global tour, which ended in March 2024. Following the run of shows being completed, the members went on an “indefinite hiatus” shortly afterwards. Speculation about a new era has been rife since The 1975 confirmed their return to the live stage, changed their logo and updated their social media profiles.

Oborne went on to share that the follow-up to 2022’s acclaimed ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language‘ was on the way, saying: “They’re making a record at the moment. I don’t know when it will come out, but they’re making one.”

As for Dijon, the headline tour dates – which celebrate the release of the new album ‘Baby’ – continue on Saturday (November 1) with a gig in Portland, before making stops in Seattle, San Francisco, Denver, Dallas, Nashville, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Boston and more throughout the rest of the month.

A handful of shows are planned for December too, taking place across Brooklyn, Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis and more, before Dihon heads across the pond in the new year for some shows across the UK and Europe. Visit here for UK tickets and here for international tickets.
