Over the weekend (July 5), Ozzy and Black Sabbath played their final show ever at the massive Back To The Beginning concert in Birmingham. Besides marking the final chapter for Ozzy and Sabbath’s on-stage career, the day also marked the beginning of a new chapter as the Prince of Darkness’ daughter Kelly got engaged to Sid Wilson, Slipknot’s DJ.

Backstage at the gig, the couple’s friends were gathered in a room where Ozzy, Sharon and Jack Osbourne were sat. Calls for silence were shouted before Sid Wilson began sticking a hand in his bag: “Kelly, you know I love you more than anything in the world.”

Ozzy interjected with a quick joke: “Fuck off! You’re not marrying my daughter.” After the room erupted into laughter, Wilson continued: “Nothing would make me happier than to spend the rest of my life with you. In front of your family and all of our friends, Kelly, will you marry me?” Wilson turned to show Ozzy the ring before Kelly replied with a yes, and the couple embraced.

Watch the heartwarming moment below.

The couple began dating in January 2022, and welcomed a son, Sidney a year later. Sidney is Ozzy Osbourne’s 10th grandchild – four from his son Jack, while his children from his first marriage to Thelma Riley, Jessica and Louis, have three and two respectively.

Sidney and Kelly have joined Sid Wilson and the rest of Slipknot at most of their live shows since, with the couple having confirmed that their child is “not scared” of Sid’s Slipknot mask. Additionally, Kelly has uploaded several clips of their child playing backstage with other members of Slipknot while they’re dressed in full regalia.

In August last year, Sid Wilson was hospitalised due to “serious burns” to his face and arms following a bonfire accident that “melted” his face from the “nose all the way down”. He explained how the incident happened: “A few nights ago, I lit [a bonfire] and let it burn down. So, the next day, I went to check it to see, you know, how much was left, if anything. And there was a certain amount of debris around the side still left, so I, like a dummy, [did] what I’m not supposed to do, but I added some gas to it.”

The band’s last album ‘The End, So Far’ arrived in 2022 – since then, they’ve been joined by new drummer Eloy Casagrande and have toured in support of their self-titled debut album’s 25th anniversary. Speaking to NME in December last year, Slipknot’s Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan that their long-lost record ‘Look Outside Your Window’ was out of his hands and with management for the final steps.

Elsewhere at Black Sabbath’s final gig, Ozzy put on a short solo performance and the band performed their final set, along with support from Metallica, Slayer, Mastodon and more.
