Watch Sabrina Carpenter Freak Out Over Grammy Noms: ‘Filled With Gratitude’

“I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t dreamt about this day my whole life,” said the singer, who earned six nods

Sabrina Carpenter is ecstatic over her 2025 Grammy nominations. On Friday, the Short n’ Sweet pop star shared several sweet and silly clips of herself reacting to the news of her Recording Academy nods while watching from inside her tour bus.

“Take a shot every time we scream like fr headphone warning,” Carpenter wrote.

In the two videos, Carpenter started to shed tears as she learned that Short n’ Sweet was up for Album of the Year, and joked about being nominated for Best New Artist: “I don’t know how that’s possible. I’m the best old artist!” (Short n’ Sweet is her sixth album.)

In the Big Four categories, Carpenter’s “Espresso” is up for Record of the Year while “Please Please Please” is nominated for Song of the Year. She’s the only artist up for both Record and Song of the Year with different tracks up for awards in each category. “Espresso” also got a nod for Best Pop Solo Performance (She was excited to be up against Beyoncé), and Short n’ Sweet earned a Best Pop Vocal Album nod.

“This is the first year I’ve watched the livestream where I heard my name!” Carpenter captioned the post. “I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t dreamt about this day my whole life so I am filled with gratitude- Thank you @recordingacademy.”

Earlier in the day, Barry Keoghan also reacted to the news during an interview with SiriusXM. “Absolutely fucking brilliant. I’m really really happy for her, we’re getting on the phone soon,” he said. “I don’t know anyone who works as hard. I’m really in awe of her work and the standards that she sets. … She knows the vision, she knows what she wants.”

In her reaction video, Carpenter was presumably on her way to San Francisco for the next stop of her Short n’ Sweet tour on Saturday. She’s set to conclude her run in Los Angeles at the Kia Forum on Nov. 18. Several weeks after the Grammys she’ll go back on the road in Europe alongside Rachel Chinouriri.
