This year’s edition has seen the festival return to the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona, Spain, featuring a stacked line-up that includes Carpenter alongside fellow headliners Charli XCX and Chappell Roan.

Last night’s (June 6) set coincided with the release of ‘Manchild‘ – the first new track from the pop star in 2025, following on from her dominating the charts last year with singles including ‘Espresso’, ‘Please, Please, Please’ and ‘Taste’.

The new single got its live debut at the festival, alongside a slew of fan favourites like ‘Feather’, ‘Nonsense’ and ‘Bed Chem’ – with the latter reimagined with a dance interlude featuring Ginuwine’s ‘Pony’.

Another surprise addition came after Carpenter teased The Weather Girls track, telling the sold-out crowd: “There is a lot of moisture in the air. It’s weird, I feel like there might be a storm coming… Oh shit, guys I think it’s raining!” before launching into the 1983 single.

Sabrina Carpenter’s Primavera Sound setlist was:

‘Busy Woman’
‘Taste’
‘Good Graces’
‘Slim Pickins’
‘Bed Chem’ with Ginuwine’s ‘Pony’ dance interlude
‘Manchild’
‘Coincidence’
‘because i liked a boy’
‘It’s Raining Men’ (The Weather Girls cover)
‘Nonsense’
‘Couldn’t Make It Any Harder’
‘Feather’
‘Juno’
‘Please Please Please’
‘Don’t Smile’
‘Espresso’

Fans streaming the performance on Amazon Music later took to social media to note she was singing in a lower register than normal, with one taking to X/Twitter to say: “I’m so obsessed with her vocals omg.”

Another added that the lower vocals were “heavenly”, while another user pointed out that although it wasn’t a ‘Short N Sweet’ tour date, the cover “maybe counted as a ‘Spin The Bottle’ cover song”.

The tradition has seen her cover songs chosen by a game of Spin the Bottle with her backup dancers, and was adopted in her live sets after she scrapped her usual adlibbed ‘Nonsense’ outros ahead of kicking off her world tour last year.

Following the headline slot at Primavera, she’s now set to headline two nights at BST Hyde Park, where she’ll be joined by Clairo, Beabadoobee and Olivia Dean. Visit here for remaining tickets.

In other Sabrina Carpenter news, the singer has been linked to a possible role in Mamma Mia 3, and is set to return to Fortnite soon for an “epic dance party”.
