Watch PinkPantheress make a surprise appearance at The Dare’s LIDO Festival set to perform ‘Stateside’

PinkPantheress surprised fans at The Dare‘s LIDO Festival set when she came on stage to perform ‘Stateside’. Check out the footage below.

The moment took place in Victoria Park yesterday (June 14), at Charli XCX-curated day festival. Coined ‘Party Girl’, the day was part of LIDO – a new festival first announced in October. It is run by AEG Presents, who also organise All Points East, BST Hyde Park and Forwards.

Alongside The Dare, the line-up featured Bladee, The Japanese House, 070 Shake, Kelly Lee Owens, A. G. Cook and more.

Midway through The Dare’s set, he introduced the British musician’s surprise performance, saying: “I don’t know if you guys have heard of PinkPantheress…” before she walked onstage to sing ‘Stateside‘ from her latest album ‘Fancy That‘.

The track, which PinkPantheress has called her “favourite” on the album, was co-produced by The Dare, and it marked their first time performing it together live. Check out the footage below.

Massive Attack and Jamie xx held their own festival with LIDO last weekend (June 6 and 7), and London Grammar will round off the festival on June 15.

In other news, PinkPantheress recently announced a residency at London’s O2 Academy Brixton, where she will play for two nights on September 18 and 19, under the banner ‘An Evening With PinkPantheress’. Find remaining tickets here.

In addition, she was also announced for Glastonbury 2025’s Silver Hayes area along with the likes of Jungle, Confidence Man (DJ set) and Marie Davidson.

In a four-star review of PinkPantheress’s latest album ‘Fancy That’, NME wrote: With ‘Fancy That’, PinkPantheress is kicking down the door to her next chapter – one that promises to be more adventurous than ever. She’s no longer content with being the elusive girl behind the screen, proving she can shapeshift, push boundaries and still keep us hooked – all in under 20 minutes.

Elsewhere, The Dare’s 2024 debut album ‘What’s Wrong With New York?’ was given a three-star review by NME, with Jordan Bassett writing: “It’s tempting to tell Smith that Murphy wants his shtick back (along with his suit), but the pastiche is often effective, at least.”

“His defiantly dumb breakthrough track ‘Girls’ is one of the best singles of 2006 and ‘Movement’ builds to a crunching, multi-layered cacophony that demonstrates greater musical sophistication than he’s often given credit for,” it added.
