Watch Paramore’s Hayley Williams perform rare rendition of ‘Jennifer’s Body’ track, ‘Teenagers’

Paramore singer Hayley Williams has shared an ultra-rare rendition of her track ‘Teenagers’.

The song was written by the singer as part of the soundtrack for the hit 2009 film Jennifer’s Body, which starred Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried.

It featured on the soundtrack alongside tracks from rock peers, including Panic! At The Disco, Cute Is What We Aim For and Dashboard Confessional. However, despite the massive success of the film and the track going on to become a cult classic with fans, Williams has never performed the song live.

Taking to Instagram recently, the Paramore star got one step closer to breaking the song out during a show – playing a rare rendition of the track at home and sharing it with fans.

“Lore behind this one is so ridiculous I can’t tell if tellin’ it would make the song better or worse,” she wrote in her Instagram Story. “Anyway, first self-serenade in years… hope it’s fine by you.”

Check it out below.

In the caption for the full post, Williams shared: “Wrote this for the Jennifer’s Body soundtrack when I was still a teenager.

“P.S. The weather in Nashville right now is glorious after multiple tornado threats, flooding, and a sleepless night hiding out in the basement. have come a little too close to multiple natural disasters this year. They continue to get worse and more frequent. Climate crisis is definitely here and the ppl in power don’t give a rat’s ass.”

In other Hayley Williams news, last month the singer joined Deftones on stage in Nashville for a performance of ‘Minerva’. It came shortly after she teamed up with Finneas for a cover of Paramore‘s ‘crushcrushcrush’ and performed with Failure frontman Ken Andrews at the recent G*ve A F*ck benefit concert in Los Angeles.

In other news, late last December, Hayley Williams teased the possibility of a string of solo shows in 2025, five years after she had originally planned them. The singer’s first solo studio album ‘Petals For Armor’ was released in May 2020 and Williams had intended to play the record live on a UK and European tour that month, before plans had to be shelved amid the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

She has since released her second solo record ‘Flowers For Vases / Descansos’ in 2021, but has yet to play a sustained run of solo shows to support either release.

As for Jennifer’s Body, news of a potential sequel emerged earlier this year when, while attending the Toronto Film Festival for her upcoming project Seven Veils, Seyfried was filmed revealing that a part two is on the way.

“I think we’re making [a second] one,” she told fans while signing autographs. When asked if that was an official confirmation, she replied: “I didn’t confirm it… I said, ‘I think,’” before winking at the camera and saying: “We’re working on it. We’re working on it”.

She has since doubled down on the comments, saying she is “ready” for the follow-up.
