She was headlining the New York festival last night (June 7), with heavy rain delaying the start of her set by an hour. Undeterred by the conditions, the former NME cover star launched into a high-octane set that includes hits like ‘vampire’, ‘jealously, jealousy’ and ‘traitor’.

As her performance drew to a close, Talking Heads frontman Byrne joined her on stage to perform a rendition of his band’s 1983 hit ‘Burning Down the House’ – with the line “We’re in for nasty weather” seeming appropriate after the rain caused hours of delay at the festival, pushing the Day Two start time back by four hours.

The two appeared to coordinate outfits, with Rodrigo sporting an all-red set while Byrne wore a white T-shirt underneath red overalls. They each traded lines of the song, with the pop singer attempting his trademark jaunty moves by bending her knees and running in place.

Olivia Rodrigo at Governors Ball 2025 played:

‘obsessed’
‘ballad of a homeschooled girl’
‘vampire’
‘drivers license’
‘traitor’
‘bad idea right?’
‘love is embarrassing’
‘pretty isn’t pretty’
‘happier’
‘enough for you’
‘so american’
‘jealousy, jealousy’
‘favorite crime’
‘Burning Down the House’ (Talking Heads cover with David Byrne)
‘deja vu’

Encore:
‘brutal’
‘all-american bitch’
‘good 4 u’
‘get him back!

Later this month, Rodrigo is set to perform a massive headline show at Hyde Park’s London series, with her June 27 gig marking her biggest UK show to date. Although tickets for the BST Hyde Park concert are sold-out, if any more last-minute tickets become available, you can find them here.

It isn’t the only huge UK performance Rodrigo has lined up for this summer either, as she will also be joining Neil Young and The 1975 in headlining Glastonbury 2025. The slot on the Pyramid Stage will mark her second appearance at the Worthy Farm festival, following on from her performance to a mammoth crowd to The Other Stage in 2022.

As for Talking Heads, earlier this week, the band premiered the first ever music video for their iconic hit ‘Psycho Killer’.

Fans had been hoping they were teasing a reunion after they’d teased an announcement with a clip of moon at night and the sun emerging from behind the clouds, but it ended up being different from what they were anticipating, with the Saoirse Ronan-starring video was shared to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their live debut.
