Watch Miley Cyrus’ trailer for ‘Something Beautiful’ visual album coming to cinemas

Miley Cyrus has shared the trailer for the visual film version of her upcoming album ‘Something Beautiful’ – check it out below.

Earlier this week, the singer announced her ninth studio album will be released on May 30 via Columbia Records, comprised of 13 original tracks. Cyrus serves as executive producer alongside Shawn Everett (Kacey Musgraves, Alabama Shakes). Pre-order the album here.

Now, she has confirmed that a visual film version of the record will hit cinemas in June. Directed by Cyrus, Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter, it is described as “a striking visual narrative”, with Cyrus decked out in classic Thierry Mugler, Jean Paul Gaultier and Alexander McQueen designs.

The trailer sees Cyrus with several different looks in multiple locations around Los Angeles, including a film lot and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “A unique visual experience, fuelled by fantasy, including 13 original songs from the upcoming album,” the trailer exclaims. “A one of a kind pop opera from the mind of Miley Cyrus.” You can watch it below.

Cyrus had been teasing her new album in recent weeks, with her social media profile pictures and website being updated to depict her silhouette. Fans also reported seeing posters for ‘Something Beautiful’ around the world.

She previously suggested that the album will be inspired by Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’. “We really leaned in. And so I have this heart-first attachment to it. My idea was making ‘The Wall’, but with a better wardrobe and more glamorous and filled with pop culture,” she said.

She described the vibe of her album as “hypnotising and glamorous,” saying: “It’s a concept album that’s an attempt to medicate somewhat of a sick culture through music.

It will be the follow-up to 2023’s ‘Endless Summer Vacation’, which NME gave four stars and said: “It all adds up to an album that holds your full attention even if it isn’t Cyrus’s boldest or most visionary. ‘Endless Summer Vacation’ certainly feels like an accurate reflection of who she is as an artist – and a person – in 2023. She’s still working out what she wants from a relationship. She knows she can pull off different musical styles even when she’s not trying to make bangers (or ‘Bangerz’). And when she sings “But don’t forget, baby I’m a wildcard” on the third-to-last song, you’ll definitely believe her.”
