Watch Lorde perform ‘No Better’ for the first time in over a decade at ‘Ultrasound’ tour opener

Lorde has performed ‘No Better’ for the first time in 11 years at her ‘Ultrasound’ world tour opener – check out fan-shot footage of the performance below.

On Wednesday (September 17), Lorde kicked off her massive ‘Ultrasound’ world tour in Austin, Texas, marking her first run of arena shows in eight years. The show’s setlist was packed to the brim with hits and crowd favourites, including the live return of ‘No Better’.

Lorde’s performance of ‘No Better’ came during the second of four acts that made up her set, and is the first time she’s played the song live since 2014.

Elsewhere during the show, she performed a balanced set comprised of tunes across all four of her studio albums. Among the songs she performed were ‘Hammer’, ‘Royals’, ‘Buzzcut Season’, ‘Shapeshifter’, ‘Supercut’, ‘Oceanic Feeling’, ‘Man Of The Year’, ‘What Was That’, ‘Green Light’ and ‘Ribs’.

A portion of the set also saw Lorde perform while on a treadmill. Check out more clips from the set below.

The New Zealand pop musician will continue her trek through North America until late October, and will begin her run across Europe and the UK in November, which lasts until late December.

Her dates in the UK include shows at Manchester’s AO Arena, London’s O2 Arena, Glasgow’s OVO Hydro and Birmingham’s Utilitia Arena. Visit here for any remaining North American tickets and here for any remaining tickets for the UK and European tour dates.

Prior to Lorde’s tour kickoff, she last performed a surprise set at Glastonbury back in June. Before that, her last show took place in 2023 during the ‘Solar Power’ run.

Her five-star secret Glastonbury set coincided with the launch of her celebrated fourth album, ‘Virgin’, which scored a four-star review from NME: “ultimately, ‘Virgin’ is a vibrant combination of Lorde’s best qualities, and then some. With her newfound candour, the record combines the emotional whirlwind of ‘Melodrama’, the chilling minimalism of ‘Pure Heroine’ and the breezy freedom of ‘Solar Power’. This might be called ‘Virgin’, but Lorde proves she’s not afraid to strip herself bare.”
