Watch Lisa Try to Prove to Blackpink Bandmate Rosé That She’s ‘Not Gonna Cry’ During ‘Hot Ones’

“I did my homework. I asked my teammate Rosé,” Lisa said as she took on the challenge

Lisa only had one goal in mind when she took on the “Hot Ones” wing-eating challenge: perform better than her Blackpink groupmate Rosé did.

“I did my homework. I asked my teammate, Rosé… She said it was really spicy and she told me to take ice cream,” Lisa said during the new episode released Thursday. Later in the show, as she was faced with Da Bomb wing — the one Rosé really struggled with on her episode — Lisa jokingly bragged about being tougher than her friend.

“I’ll show Rosé I’m not gonna cry. I’ll prove her wrong! I don’t want to cry after this one,” she said. I’m tryna be cool with it. It’s whatever! It’s not that spicy.” Lisa explained that she had a trick to help herself deal with spice: “to [spit] her saliva out.” She joked, “I want to do it now, but it’s going to look so bad on camera… I should keep my image nice.”

While speaking to host Sean Evans, Lisa explained how her upcoming album, Alter-Ego, is based on five characters that “express a different version of me.” On working with Max Martin, Lisa said she was “really lucky” to tap the iconic producer for her solo music. As for “New Woman” collaborator Rosalía, Lisa said she saw her perform at Coachella. “My jaw was like, ‘Wow. This woman is so talented,’” Lisa said before sharing her excitement for Rosalía joining her on a song: “It’s too good to be true! Our cultures combined turned out so incredible.”

As for joining the cast of White Lotus, Lisa said she was excited to film the show’s opening scene, when guests arrive at the island. “I got to say that line!” Lisa said of her role as Mook, a hotel worker. “Can you imagine?”

Lisa’s album, Alter-Ego, is set to drop tonight, featuring Megan Thee Stallion on “Rapunzel” and her onetime Rolling Stone Musicians on Musicians partner Tyla on “When I’m With You.” A Rolling Stone review of the album read: “Lisa’s versatility is clearly a strength … It helps make Alter Ego feel like an encouraging first step in her figuring out how where her solo career might go.”
