On Saturday (September 27), Laufey performed the second of her two sold-out shows at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, where she surprised audiences by bringing out global pop girl group KATSEYE for an acoustic duet.

After introducing the group – minus member Manon – joining former NME Cover star Laufey onstage, the two acts dove into a stripped down version of ‘Gabriela’. The duet saw Laufey sing alongside the KATSEYE members across several verses and choruses.

Watch the moment below.

Following the performance, Laufey said to the audience and the girl group: “I’m a KATSEYE OG fan, I hope everyone knows.” She then proceeded to hand a crown to each member of the group and exchanged hugs with them before they left the stage.

‘Gabriela’ is taken off KATSEYE’s latest mini-album ‘Beautiful Chaos’, and was accompanied by a Jessica Alba-starring music video. Other hits from the EP include ‘Gnarly’ and ‘Game Boy’. The HYBE x Geffen girl group also recently released a D.I.Y-inspired visualiser for ‘M.I.A.’

The visualiser’s release comes shortly after the group’s triumphant night at the 2025 MTV VMAs earlier this week, where they performed two songs on the pre-show. First, KATSEYE kicked things off with the smash hit ‘Gnarly’, which NME named as one of our Songs of the Summer. Later, KATSEYE returned for another pre-show performance, this time turning in a rendition of ‘Gabriela’. During the main award show, KATSEYE won the MTV Push Performance of the Year award for 2024’s ‘Touch’, marking their first-ever VMA win.
