In November last year, it was announced that Lady Gaga had been added to the cast of the hit Netflix series for its upcoming second season, which followed fans recreating Jenna Ortega’s viral dance from the show set to the singer’s 2011 track ‘Bloody Mary’ – a trend Gaga herself got in on.
Last night (May 31) at the streamer’s Tudum event, Netflix revealed she is set to appear as Nevermore teacher Rosaline Rotwood, who crosses paths with Ortega’s Wednesday in Part 2 of the show, which hits screens on September 3, after the Part 1 premiere on August 6.
To mark the occasion, Gaga closed out the livestream event with a fittingly spooky performance. Taking to the stage at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, the ‘Perfect Celebrity’ singer from inside a coffin labelled “Here Lies the Monster Queen” to perform a medley of songs alongside dancers dressed as Wednesday characters.

She performed ‘Abracadabra‘ – which came with with a cameo from Ortega, who sat at the head of a long banquet table for a spooky feast. She went on to sing ‘Zombieboy’ and ‘Bloody Mary’, as well as dancing to The Cramps‘ ‘Goo Goo Muck’, the song Ortega repopularised with the viral dance scene.
The franchise star previously opened up about working with Gaga, saying she was “definitely one of the most talented individuals I’ve ever worked with“. After working together filming the second instalment of the show, Ortega said of the experience: “It was just a really, really special environment to be there with her and Tim [Burton], two people that I respect and have been inspired by so much.”
“Then just finding out that she’s such a sweetheart and really kind and reserved, it’s very strange. I love that you never know what to expect from her, but you can always expect kindness and generosity,” Ortega continued.
