Kraftwerk have kicked off their ‘Multimedia’ world tour, with the first leg of shows happening in North America.
Legendary electro pioneer Ralf Hütter and co. have returned to the US to celebrate an upcoming milestone for the band: 50 years since they shared their breakthrough album ‘Autobahn’.
The first Kraftwerk ‘Multimedia’ gig took place at Philidelphia’s Franklin Music Hall on Thursday (March 6), and on Friday (March 7) the band performed at Pittsburgh venue Stage AE Outdoors.
Some of the tracks played by the electronic group include ‘Autobahn’, ‘Airwaves’, ‘Spacelab’, ‘Neon Lights’, and ‘Radioactivity’. The encore at the Philidelphia gig included ‘The Robots’ and ‘Planet of Visions’.

My god that was awesome. Every bit of the legends they’re made to be. One of the loudest concerts I’ve been to as well. Top marks. pic.twitter.com/uXNacxiyGW

Last year, the members paid tribute to the late Ryuichi Sakamoto with a cover of ‘Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence’. The band performed the track this summer at Fuji Rock Festival in the renowned composer’s home country of Japan.
