Watch Kendrick Lamar and Timothée Chalamet rap ‘The Heart Pt. 2’ and ‘Kush & Corinthians’ in bonus interview ahead of Super Bowl

Timothée Chalamet has rapped along with Kendrick Lamar to two of the artist’s deep cuts in the second part of an interview ahead of Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show.

The Compton rapper is set to headline the prestigious slot at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans tonight (February 9), during the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.

In anticipation of the big event, the NFL Network has released the second half of an exclusive interview with Lamar conducted by A Complete Unknown star Chalamet. The video sees the two sit in a GNX car – the model Lamar named his 2024 album after – while they rap along together to ‘The Heart Pt. 2’ from 2010’s ‘Overly Dedicated’ and ‘Kush & Corinthians’ from 2011’s ‘Section.80’.

Check out the video here:

“I go way back,” Chalamet exclaims about his knowledge of Lamar’s career. “Just know I know all the hits too, man. I don’t want people thinking I’m stuck in the past.”

Chalamet goes on to ask whether Kendrick would consider offering the rights to his life story over to a movie studio. “I don’t be thinkin’ about no documentaries, no nothin’,” he replied. “I’m present…I still got ideas I wanna get to. I’m infatuated with the now.”

The first part of the video was released on Friday (February 7) and saw Chalamet declare his love for Lamar. “Just being a fan of your music forever and knowing like, look where you’re at now, man” he said. “It’s just crazy, Super Bowl halftime show. And you just keep climbing, bro. It’s like, amazing”.

It has been confirmed that SZA will be joining Kendrick during the Halftime Show, with at least one other surprise guest expected during the show.

Lamar has previously played the Halftime show, as a guest during Dr. Dre’s all-star set in 2022 – which also included appearances from Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem and 50 Cent.

Last year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show was headlined by Usher, who was joined on stage by Alicia Keys, H.E.R. and Will.i.am. In 2023, Rihanna played a career-spanning set at the major event. Her slot would go on to become the most-watched Halftime Show in history.

In other news, last week saw Lamar win five awards at the Grammys 2025, including Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year for his Drake diss song ‘Not Like Us’.
