Jess Glynne has come face to face with the voice behind the viral Jet2holidays ad – watch the moment below.
Thanks to over 1million TikTok users sharing nightmare holiday experiences to the soundtrack of the 2015 hit ‘Hold My Hand’ and the Jet2holiday tagline, Glynne’s song has experienced an unexpected viral resurgence in recent days.
Now, Capitol Breakfast have united Glynne with the voice actor of the ad, Hollyoaks star Zoe Lister. “This is mad!”, Glynne exclaimed upon meeting Zoe, who she greeted with a hug.
Lister went on to tell Glynne that though the pair hadn’t met before, “we’re bonded”. She added: “I feel like I’m basically in your band now – I mean, you don’t feel like that, but I feel like that.”
The pair then went on to recreate the ad live on air, with Glynne handling vocals and Lister reciting the infamous slogan alongside her. Watch the moment below from 11 minutes 17 seconds:
Earlier in the chat, Glynne admitted that while the track had a habit of “resurfacing every year”, its viral stint has been “a massive surprise, 100 per cent. It’s the most amazing thing to see though”.
The singer has previously caught flack for the song being “overplayed” by Jet2, with some social media users complaining: “That Jess Glynne song on Jet 2 planes makes me wanna smash my head against the window”.
Another added: “The worst thing about flying with Jet 2 is having to hear Jess Glynne about six times.”
In response, Glynne empathised with her critics, saying: “I’m gonna just say to Jet2 and to everybody out there, look – I didn’t make them do it like that. I agreed to, you know, let them have my song and, you know, I apologise if it annoys you!”
She continued: “Thing is I understand though, when you hear something over and over again and apparently they play it like seven times before they take off so… You know, it’s a lot!”
Elsewhere, Jess Glynne has said she nearly quit music due to “the scrutiny”.
