Jack White headlined Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary concert on Friday night with a rousing performance of ‘Seven Nation Army’ – check out the footage below.
The guitarist rounded out the star-studded affair at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall, where he also played a cover of Neil Young’s 1989 single ‘Rockin’ In The Free World’.
The White Stripes frontman’s performance was introduced by Jimmy Fallon, who helmed the entire SNL 50: The Homecoming show, which aired live on Friday (February 14) on NBC.

Among the other big names on the show were Lady Gaga, who made a surprise appearance with Andy Samberg for a medley of Lonely Island hits, including ‘Dick In A Box’.
Elsewhere, the night saw the surviving members of Nirvana – Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl and Pat Smear – reunite for the second time in two weeks, this time with Post Malone on vocals to perform ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’.
Miley Cyrus also appeared to play her Grammy-winning hit ‘Flowers’, in a viral performance that saw her give shout-outs to Paul Rudd, Adam Sandler and SNL creator Lorne Michaels.
Celebrations will continue on Sunday (February 16) with the SNL 50 Anniversary Special, for which Paul McCartney, Sabrina Carpenter, Paul Simon have already been announced as guests.
White, meanwhile, has been touring North America to support his 2024 album ‘No Name’, and was recently joined in New York’s Irving Plaza by his 18-year-old daughter Scarlett for a version of ‘Archbishop Harold Holmes’.
In December, White also announced a UK and European tour for 2025, with tickets available here. The musician will be making stops in London, Birmingham, Paris, Glasgow and more.
‘No Name’ scored a four-star review from NME upon its release in August, with Andrew Trendell writing: “This is an ode to the mystique of rock’n’roll and to the joy of music at its most physical and playful. Teasing doesn’t always lead to satisfaction. Just cut to the chase – and this one’s a bone-rattling ride. White’s revelling in the real world and has made it a much more thrilling place.”
