Watch Harry Styles kick off landmark 30-night residency at New York’s Madison Square Garden

Harry Styles has kicked off his landmark 30-night residency at New York’s Madison Square Garden, and played a tribute to Dolly Parton. Check out footage and the full setlist below.

The dates come as part of the singer’s ongoing ‘Together, Together’ tour, which has so far seen him play a record-breaking 12 shows at London’s Wembley Stadium, as well as dates in Amsterdam, São Paulo and Mexico City.

Now, he is across the pond for an impressive 30 nights at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden venue, which kicked off last night (Wednesday August 26).

The 30 shows mark the final dates planned on this leg of the tour, and conclude with a “Harryween” show on October 31, before more dates in Melbourne and Sydney in December.

At the first MSG show last night, Styles kicked things off with ‘Dance No More’ for the first time as a setlist opener, before playing ‘Carolina’ live for the first time. Other debuts on the night included ‘Cinema’, ‘Kiwi’, and ‘Satelitte’ – the latter of which had only been played in part prior. Fan favourites ‘Music for a Sushi Restaurant’ and ‘Watermelon Sugar’ also came earlier in the 21-song setlist.

From there, songs on the setlist included ‘Sweet Creature’, ‘Waiting Game’, ‘Are You Listening Yet?’, ‘Ready Set Go’, ‘Pop’ and more, before some of his biggest hits came at the end of the setlist, including ‘American Girls’, ‘As It Was’, ‘Sign of the Times’ and ‘Aperture’.

Towards the end of his show, he also took time to share his gratitude for “all the musicians who inspire me”, including the late Dolly Parton, who died on Tuesday (August 25) after a “brief battle with cancer”.

“Dolly, we love you, thank you so much,” he shared, before playing her 1974 hit ‘I Will Always Love You’ over the speakers, encouraging fans to hold up their phone torches.

He closed the London run with an onstage appearance from his sister Gemma and a Pride celebration. Styles was later officially recognised by Guinness World Records for his history-making Wembley Stadium residency, and has been given a gold Blue Peter badge in acknowledgement of the feat.

NME caught the ‘Together, Together’ tour in Amsterdam in May, giving the show a glowing five-star review. It hailed the performance as “a hopeful celebration of community and connection”.

Dates come in support of his fourth solo album, ‘Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally’, which was released in March. He launched the record with a ‘One Night Only’ show in Manchester earlier this year, filming the performance for a Netflix special.
