Watch hardcore band Foundation reunite for first gig in eight years

Hardcore band Foundation recently reunited for their first gig together in eight years. Check out the footage below.

The Atlanta straight-edge group haven’t performed together since their farewell show at The Masquerade in Atlanta, Georgia on April 30 2016, a year after they released their final EP ‘Turncoat’.

Since their breakup, Foundation’s members have gone on to play in Slow Fire Pistol, Candy, Abuse of Power, Criminal Instinct, and more.

Now, it appears that they’re back, with a scheduled headline slot at FYA Fest in Tampa, Florida this weekend.

Ahead of that performance, though, they officially reunited on December 28 for a show at Atlanta venue The Drunken Unicorn. To mark the occasion, they played all five tracks featured on ‘Turncoat’, as well as a handful of songs from their 2011 album ‘When The Smoke Clears’. Check out the footage below.

Fans who were at the gig have been sharing their reactions, with one writing: “2013 was the last time I saw @foundationatl. I had almost given up hope on ever seeing a reunion show, but tonight I was able to be at THE reunion show. An incredibly special night. An incredibly special band. Welcome back.”

Another shared in the comments “This is so important for Atlanta”.

Foundation’s reunion show setlist was:

‘Pray For (Atlanta)’
‘Never Stops Raining’
‘Silence Above, Quiet Below’
‘A Warm Place In Hell’
‘Purple Heart’
‘No Cure For Fools’
‘No One Writes Protest Songs Anymore’
‘Failure Breeds Failure’
‘The New Faith’
‘Devotion III’

In other hardcore reunion news, 90 Day Men also closed out 2024 with their first live show in nearly two decades.

The Midwest group, who rose to prominence across the ‘90s and early ‘00s, played their final gig back in 2006 at the Empty Bottle venue in Chicago. Last October, however, they announced that they would be returning after a hiatus, and playing that exact same venue as their first live show in 18 years
