Friends actor Courteney Cox has shared a clip of her drumming along to ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ on social media – check it out below.
Late last week, the Scream franchise actor took to social media to post a clip of herself drumming along to Nirvana‘s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ in her home. The clip shows the actor – best known for playing Monica in Friends and Gale Weathers in Scream – ripping through the chorus of the Nirvana classic.

The clip has received over 214,000 likes and counting, with comments of support and amazement from other actors and musicians. However, it is currently unknown if Nirvana’s Dave Grohl – who is currently on the road in Asia with the Foo Fighters – has seen the clip.
Though best known for acting, Courteney Cox has had quite a fairytale history with music. Before she got famous with Friends, she was handpicked by Bruce Springsteen to co-star in his iconic 1984 video ‘Dancing In The Dark’. She joined a social media trend in 2024 to recreate the clip.
Cox also occasionally plays the piano, and has uploaded clips on social media of her playing in private with the likes of Elton John, Brandi Carlile, Ed Sheeran and more.
In other news, Cox is due to return to the Scream franchise next year for Scream 7, making her the only actor to appear in all seven films in the franchise. It was previously reported that David Arquette, Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley would all reprise their deceased characters in the seventh instalment. Scream 7 is scheduled for release on February 27, 2026.
