Geese played Reading Festival 2026 last night (August 28) – check out footage below.
Cameron Winter and co. made their debut performance at the festival yesterday, ahead of their set at Leeds tonight (August 29). The band took to the stage against a montage video of triumphant sports moments – including a Wayne Rooney goal and Michael Smith’s perfect leg against Michael van Gerwen in the 2023 World Darts Championship.
They drew one of the wildest crowds of the weekend so far, in spite of the heavy rain that went on for most of the day. Winter even poked fun at the weather, warning the crowd not to “drink the water” that was seeping through The Gallery tent as they performed.
“It’s not good for you,” Winter added as he addressed the crowd, most of whom were damp, covered in mud, and wearing plastic ponchos.
They opened with ‘Husbands’ from their most recent album ‘Getting Killed‘, and went on to play fan favourites like ‘Half Real’, ‘2122’, and ‘Cobra’, before wrapping up with ‘Trindad’.

NME gave the set four stars in a review that read: “If Winter were ranting on the street corner about “kneeling on the turnpike” with an “angel down my throat”, you’d probably give him a wide berth. As it is, he’s drawn a devoted congregation to the tent, like a travelling preacher who’s rolled into town with intoxicating tales of eternal damnation.
“And Geese sure know how to get the people going, preceding the set with a heart-pumping video montage of sporting triumphs that also includes the Mitchell and Webb sketch in which the former bellows at you to ‘WATCH THE FOOTBALL!”

The set comes as part of their ongoing UK tour, which will include two headline shows at London’s Troxy on September 1 and 2. They will then headline the opening night of End Of The Road on September 3.
Geese’s latest album ‘Getting Killed’ received five stars from NME before topping our list of the best albums of 2025.
In a five-star review of Geese’s Hammersmith Apollo show earlier this year, NME wrote: “While Winter’s last solo gig in these parts revealed him as a Tom Waits or Nick Cave for our time, tonight feels like one of those hallowed shows seeing Nirvana or The Strokes come into their own, or Radiohead finding their voice.
“In any way, it’s between Geese and Fontaines D.C. to define this decade as a band.”
