The Foo Fighters frontman joined Deal at London’s Roundhouse on Friday night (June 20), walking onstage towards the end of a set that saw the ‘Are You Mine’ artist sing several Breeders classics as well as covers of the Beatles and Ed’s Redeeming Qualities.
After welcoming Grohl to the stage, he joked: “I’ll sing whatever you ask me to sing. I’ll do whatever you ask me to do,” and promised to “hang out” with the musician after the show.
This is not the first time that Grohl has played the track with Deal. Back in 2022, the two performed the song on stage at the 2022 Vets Aid charity concert, and also took on the 1988 track when the Breeders opened for the Foo Fighters on their headlining tour, singing it together once again at a 2023 Austin City Limits late-night show.

Grohl – who recently appeared on a new Ed Sheeran track titled ‘Drive‘ for the F1 soundtrack – was also in London earlier in the week. In an Instagram post shared by Amanda Palmer, he’s seen backstage at the Yeah Yeah Yeahs show at the Royal Albert Hall.
Grohl has been stepping back into the spotlight in recent months, and in May, it was announced that the Foo Fighters will play their first show of 2025 at the Singapore F1 Grand Prix.
The comeback gig in October will also mark the band’s first appearance together since Grohl courted controversy in September when he revealed that he had fathered a daughter outside of his marriage.
Following the news, Foo Fighters subsequently cancelled their scheduled headline slot at the Soundside Music Festival. In December, Hellfest founder and director Ben Barbaud claimed that the band had scrapped a summer 2025 tour, suggesting that Foo Fighters were primed to headline the French festival but were instead replaced by Muse.
As for Deal, her debut solo album ‘Nobody Loves You More’ scored a four-star review from NME last year, with Rishi Shah writing: “When Deal first penned ‘Are You Mine’ in 2010, she could hardly have predicted it would appear on a solo record 14 years later. That microcosm is the exact beauty of ‘Nobody Loves You More’, which combines her strengths with her evergreen knack of embracing the moment into a collection that exudes maturity and class.
“Although the large cast of collaborators has few notable surface-level moments, this is an album that celebrates Deal’s individual brilliance – with a little help from the friends she’s made along the way.”
