The musician made a rare appearance for the B2B set alongside alongside Erol Alkan and Busy P at the Pompidou Centre as part of the the 20th anniversary of French record label Because Beaubourg.

His first DJ set in 16 years saw Bangalter spinning Daft Punk songs including ‘Contact’, ‘Rollin’ & Scratchin” and ‘Digital Love’ along with The Chemical Brothers‘ ‘Galvanise’ and Jonny Greenwood‘s score for the movie One Battle After Another. You can view footage below.

Writing on his Instagram page, Fred Again.. wrote: “Last night I got to play with Thomas Bangalter, Erol Alkan, Busy P at the Pompidou Centre in Paris, the last night before it closes for 5 years.

“Thomas told me in this lift on the way down to the show that the first time he fell in love with electronic music was in this building in 1992. He also told me hasn’t played a proper set without the mask on for 24 years. I didn’t know what to say to either of those things and I still don’t.

“All I said to him at the end is that I hope it isn’t 24 years til the next. Thank you to the infinity legends Erol and Pedro for making me feel so at home.”

Elsewhere, new footage of Daft Punk performing with Phoenix at a legendary concert at Madison Square Garden was recently unearthed.

The 2010 show famously saw the masked duo join their French counterparts onstage while they were playing ‘If I Ever Feel Better’ as part of their encore.

They then joined forces for ‘Harder Better Faster Stronger’, ‘Around The World’ and Phoenix’s ‘1901’.

Elsewhere, Daft Punk’s chart-topping third record is set to be reissued as a remix album on vinyl for the first time ever on November 28. Justice, Soulwax, SebastiAN, Basement Jaxx, The Juan Maclean and many more will have their takes on Daft Punk recorded on the vinyl – pre-order yours here.

Fred Again.. meanwhile recently released the first song from his new USB series, ‘You’re A Star’, featuring Amyl & The Sniffers.

The London producer recently announced his latest run of USB releases, dubbed ‘USB002’, which will see him release 10 songs over 10 weeks, as well as play DJ sets in 10 different cities. The tracks will later be compiled into a vinyl release, which you can pre-order here.
