Watch Chappell Roan bring out Heart’s Nancy Wilson for ‘Barracuda’ in New York

Chappell Roan has surprised fans by bringing out Heart‘s Nancy Wilson for a cover of ‘Barracuda’. Check out footage below.

The moment took place yesterday (Sunday September 21) during Chappell Roan’s live show at the Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York. The gig marked the second of her four scheduled dates at the venue.

After kicking off with songs like ‘Femininomenon’, ‘After Midnight’, ‘Naked In Manhattan’ and ‘Guilty Pleasure’, Roan broke out her huge hit ‘HOT TO GO!’ before performing her usual cover of Heart’s classic song ‘Barracuda’.

While it is nothing new for Roan to break out the song at her shows, this time she took things one step further by bringing out Heart’s own Wilson for the rendition. In fan-captured footage, Wilson can be seen playing guitar and duetting with the pop star, who dances alongside her.

Last December, Roan revealed that Heart’s ‘Barracuda’ was her most-listened-to song of 2024. Her Spotify Wrapped results also featured Heart at Number Three in her top five artists of the year.

Roan’s shows in Queens continue over the next two nights, and follow a huge summer of headline shows at festivals across the globe.

One of which was a headline slot at this year’s Reading & Leeds, which was given a glowing five-star review by NME. “Throughout the performance, there’s a feeling of camaraderie and community in the crowd,” it read. “Strangers become new acquaintances, the ‘Hot To Go’ dance unites everyone in clumsily trying to remember the moves and in the right order, and before ‘Red Wine Supernova’, everyone raises pink cowboy hats and pink bandanas aloft.

“It feels like tens of thousands of like-minded people who’ve all got the same memo and have been brought together with the same intentions.”

Roan hasn’t released an album since 2023’s huge hit ‘The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess’. This summer, Roan confirmed she has “no idea” what her next album will sound like, saying: “I think that once this is done and the US shows are done, it’ll definitely feel like a big breath of weight off my shoulders just so I can chill for a sec and actually think about writing. But we’re almost done with the victory lap.”
