Billie Joe Armstrong kicked a fan off stage when he started playing Oasis’ ‘Wonderwall’ instead of ‘Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)’ – watch below.
On Monday night (June 30), Green Day were playing at the Luxexpo in Luxembourg and as they have been known to do regularly, they invited a fan from the crowd onto the stage to play guitar on show closer ‘Good Riddance’.
On this occasion, however, the fan in question had other plans. In footage captured on TikTok, the fan instead starts to strum the intro to ‘Wonderwall’, causing Armstrong to promptly exclaim “Oh, fuck me” into the microphone and seize the guitar from him.
“Nice try,” he adds, as the fan is gently ushered off the stage by a security guard, with Armstrong going on to play ‘Good Riddance’ himself. Check out the moment here:

Liam Gallagher himself reacted to the video on X on Tuesday (July 1), writing: “Best song of the night”.

The incident has strange echoes of comments made by Noel Gallagher back in 2011, when he suggested: “I’ve always thought most bands should play Oasis songs, anyway. The Foo Fighters should definitely do a couple. Green Day could do even more than one or two. Radiohead? I mean, let’s face it. It’d be a better night out.”
It comes just days before the first night of Oasis’ giant reunion tour. The first date is in Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Friday (July 4), with the band having recently confirmed all of the stage times. As anticipation mounts, audio footage has been shared online that appears to capture the band in soundcheck performing ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ inside the stadium.
Earlier this week, the band teased that additional tickets to the tour could be on sale soon, with production releases being made available in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Aldi has renamed a Manchester branch “Aldeh” in honour of the upcoming reunion tour. The new sign comes along with “90s-inspired bucket hats” complete with an Aldimania logo.
Billie Joe Armstrong, meanwhile, recently joined Sex Pistols and Frank Carter at Norwegian festival Tons Of Rock for a rendition of ‘Anarchy In The UK’.
