Victoria Beckham has scored the biggest-selling single of the week following the public spat with her son, Brooklyn.

The fashion designer and former Spice Girl‘s 2001 single ‘Not Such An Innocent Girl’ has topped the UK Official Singles Sales Chart and the Official Download Chart in the UK, a quarter of a century since its release, per Official Charts.
It marks her first solo Number One outside of the Spice Girls, with sales and streams of the track increasing 19,615% week-on week. At the time of its release, the pop-R&B track peaked at Number 6.
It comes as Brooklyn, who is the 26-year-old son of Victoria and David Beckham, shared a statement about his relationship with his parents after months of rumours of a falling out.
In the post, he defended his wife, Nicola Peltz, and said that she had been “consistently disrespected” by his family.
He also accused his parents of “controlling” him and of “bribery”, adding that he has no intentions of reconciling with them any time soon.
“I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed,” he wrote. “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family,” he added. “The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.
“Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”

He also added that he “grew up with overwhelming anxiety” and alleged that “for the first time in my life since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief.”
Neither Victoria nor David has publicly responded to the statement put forward by Brooklyn, but the comments from the photographer and aspiring chef have got fans talking online.
One person who made a nod towards the statement was pop star Lily Allen, who took to Instagram Stories to share a reimagined version of her ‘West End Girl’ album – depicting Brooklyn sat in the same way and in the same coat as she has on the original cover.
‘West End Girl’ was written and recorded following the breakdown of Allen’s marriage to Stranger Things actor David Harbour, after he allegedly cheated on her. In the tracks, she reopened old wounds from the relationship, told fans about her stance on what happened, and voiced how she was wanting to move on.

In other news, back in September, Victoria sparked speculation about a potential Spice Girls reunion after attending an Oasis concert at Wembley Stadium. She shared a photo from the gig along with the word “Tempting”, while tagging her former bandmates in the post.
Spice Girls embarked on a huge reunion tour in 2019, but the line-up did not include Victoria. The last time all five members performed together publicly was at the London Olympics closing ceremony in 2012.
Last April, all five singers came together for a surprise performance at Victoria’s 50th birthday party.
This November, Mel C said she was “optimistic” about another return for the iconic girl band in 2026. “It’s our 30th anniversary next year,” she explained. “We toured in 2019, we did a few stadium shows in the UK and it was incredible.”
