Victony’s ‘STARLIFE’ Sparks 8 Debuts on U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart

Victony scores the strongest week of his young career on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart as the first-week activity of his STARLIFE album impacts the list.

Among the highlights, the set’s single “Slick” retains its No. 2 peak, while eight tracks debut on the ranking, which blends streaming and sales data for its calculations.

In its eighth week on the chart, “Slick” repeats as the runner-up for the third consecutive frame. The track traces its standing to 900,000 official streams in the United States for the Aug. 21-27 tracking week, according to Luminate, a 10% increase from the prior week’s total.

“Slick” gave Victony his third top 10 on U.S. Afrobeats Songs and highest showing on the list. His prior best results were No. 5 peaks for his breakthrough single, “Soweto,” with Rema and Tempoe and featuring Don Toliver, in May 2023 and “Pity This Boy,” a collaboration with ODUMODUBLVCK, in February 2025.

“I’m at a point in my life where my personality is really just shining through the music,” Victony recently told Billboard U.K. “I felt it within me to show people that this is what I’m on and I feel like this body of work completely represents where I am right now.” He added, “If I left out any song from this, it would feel incomplete.”

With the eight STARLIFE debuts, Victony brings his career count to a milestone 25 entries on U.S. Afrobeats Songs. The parent album, meanwhile, debuts at No. 20 on the World Albums chart.
